• Profile of Department :
  

  The Department of English is established in the year 1986. Since its inception, in addition to the compulsory subject (Basic English) for B.A. I, II, B.Com I year, and an option at B.A. Final year, the Department has been regularly conducting course enrichment programmes i.e., crash course on Spoken English, Communication Skills, Soft skills, procurement of e-learning resources, etc. Every year programs like Book talk, Special Lecture/Workshop are organized by inviting resource persons based on course curriculum. The Department conducts Value-add-on/Bridge Course on “English Grammar and Communication Skills”. The overall performance of the students is recorded more than 90%. We are proud to say that in 2016-17 Optional English student Kumari Soujanya Munavalli secured 10th rank to the university. Prominent personalities like Shri Kotresh, Founder, Secretary & Director SS SET, Dr. R. G. Hegde, HoD of English, Bangurnagar College, Dandeli, Dr. Gurunath Badiger, HoD of English, Government First Grade College, Dharwad, Dr. Basu Bevingidad, Director, All India Radio Dharwad, Dr. Gurudevi Hulleppanavarmath,(Rtd) Senior Faculty of Lingraj College, Belgavi and Prof S.B. Nadagouda, (Rtd) Principal Gudleppa Halliker Degree College, Haveri, visited the college as Resource Persons and enriched our students knowledge.
  
  Learning Sources: 1315 books in the central library, 101 in Department library and 02 journals- Deccan Literary Journal and Indian Chronicle of English Literature.
