• Profile of Department :
  

  The Department of Economics is established in the year 1986 as a prestigious center of learning. Since its inception, it has been functioning diligently to ensure academic excellence and intellectual growth of its students. It has been actively associated with student development activities on various capacities. In the present competitive world the faculties enable the students to have an understanding of various issues of the Indian economy and to equip them with core values needed to live as a responsible citizen in a complex democratic society. Department has always tried to focus on its thrust areas in academics and in research which helps to develop the analyzing capability in applying economic theories to real life situation. The department was started with the service of an eminent scholar Dr. Pushpa M Savadatti M.S and Post Doctorate from London School of Economics, London. It gives Scholarship every year to its meritorious students instituted by our former principal of the department of economics in the year 2014. At Present Dr. Girija M Yabannavar is heading the department along with the responsibility of principal. Two guest faculties have been appointed by the management to handle the subject.
